Everything in motion, in one window
The Transfers window is where you watch eMule Qt work. It is laid out like the one in the original eMule: the download list on top, one of the four client lists below, and a toolbar on the left for the actions you use most. Drag the bar between the two halves to give either one more room; the split is remembered.
The buttons above the lists choose what each half shows. The top half can show the download list or any client list, so you can put two client lists on screen at once. Category tabs on the right filter the download list, and each button shows how many files or clients its list holds.
The download list
One row per file you are downloading. Click the arrow, or double-click if you turned on Download list double-click to expand, and the file opens up to show its sources: every peer that has some of the file, with the parts it has, its software and where it was found.
| Column | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| File Name, Size | The file and its full size. |
| Transferred, Completed | How much data has arrived for the file, and how much of it you have. |
| Speed, Remaining | The current download rate and the estimated time left. |
| Progress | The coloured bar described below. |
| Sources | How many sources are available, out of how many known, and in brackets how many are sending to you right now. |
| Priority, Status | The download priority, and whether the file is downloading, waiting, paused, stopped, completing or complete. |
| Seen Complete, Last reception | When a source last had the whole file, and when data last arrived. |
| Category, Added On | The category the file is filed under, and when you added it. |
| Country | The country flag of each source. |
| Confidence | How likely the file is what its name says, from the fake-file detector. |
Right-click a file for the rest: priority, pause, stop and resume, preview, details and comments, adding sources, eD2K links, categories, and searching for related files. Right-click a column header to show or hide columns; the order, widths and sort are kept across restarts.
Reading the progress bar
The bar shows the whole file from start to end. The colours are the same as in eMule:
- Black: finished, verified parts.
- Blue: data still missing that sources have. The darker the blue, the more sources.
- Red: data still missing that no known source has.
- Yellow: data being downloaded right now.
- Green strip on top: how much of the file is done.
A paused file is drawn in muted colours.
Under Options → Display, Show downloaded data of unfinished parts and part boundaries adds two colours known from MorphXT and marks every part boundary on the green strip. eMule itself draws this data black:
- Green: data already downloaded in an unfinished part that a source is downloading right now.
- Grey: data already downloaded in an unfinished part that no source is downloading right now. It turns black once the part is finished and verified.
A source’s bar
Open a file to see a bar for each of its sources, showing what that peer has:
- Light grey: the source does not have this part.
- Black: both of you have it.
- Blue: the source has it and you still need it.
- Yellow: requested from this source.
- Green: arriving from this source right now.
The client lists
The lower half shows one of four lists of peers.
| List | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Uploading | Peers you are sending to: the file, speed, how much they got, how long they waited and how long the upload has run. |
| Downloading | Peers sending to you: their software, the file, speed, the parts they have, totals in both directions and where the source came from. |
| On Queue | Peers waiting for an upload slot, with their queue score, rating, how often they asked and when they joined. The count below the list shows how long the queue is. |
| Known Clients | Every peer your client knows, with its upload and download status, totals, software, connection and user hash. |
The Obtained Parts bar
The Uploading and On Queue lists show which parts of your file each peer already has:
- Light grey: the peer does not have this part yet.
- Black: the peer has it.
- Yellow: the part you will send next.
- Green: what you have sent in this upload.
A faded bar marks an upload slot beyond the ones being served at full speed.
